Over 200 industry participants from the converting, food, beverage, packaging, machinery and petrochemical sectors have participated at the inauguration of the new Global Technology Innovation Center’s Jindal Films, in Virton.

“This Center supports our long-term strategy and reinforces our strong commitment to the packaging industry" said Jindal. Films “It allows to transition from a BOPP supplier to a packaging solutions provider and to open-up new opportunities, while expanding to new polymers and unlimited film structures".

“Jindal Films relies on the 30 years of technical expertise that has been established at this site” said the director of the Virton Site. “And, we are counting on this fantastic innovation tool to equip the Films business with new products for decades to come”.

In Italy, Jindal Films Europe is further expanding its metallizing capabilities at its site in Brindisi. The new metallizer will add a further 10,000 tons of metallization capacity with start-up expected in the second half of 2017.

This new capacity comes after the successful installation and start-up of another new metallizer in the first half of 2016, which is currently running at full capacity.

“Supply reliability is key for our customers and this investment reinforces our commitment to providing them with a long-term strategy”.

“Aligning with the new 10.5 m extrusion line currently being installed, this additional capability will provide a superior service and quality combined with the highest level of manufacturing efficiency” said Jindal Films Europe.

“These additional assets further strengthen our technology capability in delivering large volumes of high quality MET films, while expanding the flexibility to produce a wide range of innovative products” adds the company.

Jindal Films proposes specialty packaging and labeling film solutions, including multilayer white opaque films, metalized films and coated films, for flexible packaging and labeling applications. The company has affiliated production plants in Europe (Virton, Belgium ; Kerkrade, The Netherlands ; and Brindisi, Italy), and in the United States (LaGrange, Georgia ; and Shawnee, Oklahoma).

The company and its affiliates have sales offices to support customer needs in countries around the world, including North America, Europe and Asia.
