Made of carboard, plastic, wood, recycled material or bioplastic... The choice is large for food trays. Suppliers are expanding their ranges with PCR material option : GGL-Faerch group for instance is now able to offer a 100% RPET trays.
Monomaterial trays can be another solution (CGL-Faerch, Marcojea Production). Alternatives exist with trays made of biopolymer, such as the ones developed by Vegeplat company - which will also launch this year a home-compostable solution. As for Blanchet company, it worked on a wood tray with no metal clips : the BBC Pack is a trapezoidal-shape, stuck wood tray that can be sealed if necessary to match the need for conditioning food in a modified atmosphere.
