GERMANY: 100% natural barrier paper with higher density
posted Thursday 30 April 2020
With the enhanced Zanbarrier NGR (“Natural Grease Resistant”), Zanders offers the proven 100% biodegradable barrier paper for flexible food packaging now with an even higher density.
The cellulose fibers subjected to an incredibly intense grinding process, over several refining stages, form a tight, strong cross-linked sheet structure thus creating a fully natural barrier to oil and grease. The grade is produced on the biggest and most efficient Zanders’ 6.6m wide PM3 machine for barrier papers in Europe. In addition, the higher density opens up new applications: fast food (doner kebab or french fries), bread roll bags, butter wrappers, pizza and confectionery cartons, cookie bags or food labels. “Excellent opacity combined with outstanding printing and converting properties allow any kind of processing from micro flute to lamination,” says Zanders.
