GERMANY: Henkel expands partnership with Plastic Bank for 5 years
posted Friday 31 January 2020
The objective is to support ongoing projects in Haiti, the Philippines and Indonesia and to develop an infrastructure of more than 400 Plastic Bank collection points in Egypt to reach an additional collection capacity of 5,000 tonnes per year, corresponding to one billion bottles over 5 years.
In 2020, Henkel will integrate more than 600 tonnes of recycled material, called Social Plastic®, into its Beauty Care and Laundry & Home Care packaging. Over 200 tonnes of Social Plastic® have already been processed and integrated to date. By 2025, Henkel has set targets to have 100% packaging recyclable, reusable or compostable, and to integrate 35% recycled plastic into its consumer packaging in Europe.
