Gmund Paper acquires Cartonnerie Jean
posted Monday 31 January 2022
Gmund Paper is expanding strongly and, thanks to an acquisition in France, can now produce on a total of four paper machines. Since January 2022, the paper mill Cartonnerie Jean, located in the heart of France, belongs to Gmund Paper.
Thus, the Gmund paper mill additionally secures considerable capacities for the production of ecological cartonboard qualities on a 100% recycling basis and continuously expands its know-how for promising solutions from alternative raw materials. The two managing directors Florian Kohler and Herbert Eibach make Gmund Papier’s goal clear: « We will hereby be the specialist for particularly ecological and successful packaging applications in Europe. That is why we were looking for a manufacturer with exceptionally environmentally friendly production and many years of experience in the field of colored recycled papers”. Against the background that Gmund Paper was currently able to win the German Sustainability Award 2022 with « Gmund Hemp », this acquisition is the logical step into the future.
