Starbucks to phase out single-use cups in new program
posted Saturday 30 April 2022
At its 30th Annual General Meeting, Starbucks affirmed its intention to become a resource-positive company, giving back more than it takes from the planet.
Through a test and learn approach, it will gradually phase out single-use plastic cups in favor of reusable cups and support the efforts of its partners with an application on waste and recycling. The aim is to meet its goal of reducing waste by 50% by 2030. By the end of next year, reusable cups will be offered to Starbucks customers in the United States and Canada in coffee shops, take-out services and home deliveries.
