James Alexander Corporation, a manufacturer and contract packager of single-use dispensing systems for the pharmaceutical, diagnostic, beauty, and industrial markets, has completed a sizable expansion of its Blairstown, NJ facility. The new 18,000-square-foot build-out amounts to a 40% increase in overall floor space, with additional room for warehousing, administrative offices, and manufacturing. In total, the facility now encompasses 48,000 square feet.
For James Alexander Corp., the expansion addresses growing market needs for the company’s range of single use dispensing systems, including crushable glass ampoules and unique plastic ampoules with a selection of applicators. In a bold move toward innovation and streamlined manufacturing, the company will also be building a completely integrated line of automated filling/assembly machines to increase capacity and allow for future growth. Other areas are dedicated to two new company-designed automated swabbing machines, which bring a significant uptick in overall production capacity for glass ampoule packages.
Space also has been set aside for other near-future manufacturing infrastructure investments to meet expanding market demands. James Alexander Corp. designs and builds much of its own equipment, meaning the additional space provides elbow room to take new machine solutions from concept to reality. Warehousing space also has been expanded, and certain sections enhanced with a sophisticated HVAC setup for tightly controlled temperature storage. Office space for the company’s growing team caps off the project.
“This expansion to a 48,000 square-foot facility allows us to meet not only today’s needs, but tomorrow’s as well,” said Francesca Fazzolari, the founder of James Alexander Corp. “In addition to making room for substantially increased manufacturing capacity and storage space, we’re now able to enhance production efficiency, improve facility workflow and allow for further capital investments in advanced technologies.”
