US packaging market reaches 183 billion in sales in 2020

According to the Flexible Packaging Association (FPA), market segmentation reveals the dominant share of corrugated packaging (24%), the use of which is being boosted by e-commerce as well as digital printing technologies. In second place comes flexible packaging (19%), which continues to grow steadily.
Films, pouches and bags are popular as on-the-go packaging solutions. Then come various rigid plastics and bottles (15%), cardboard packaging (14%), metal boxes or cans (10%), glass (3%) and others (15%).
